Permission to Heal

A Community For Empowered Healers

Michael Jackson "On Top of the World"

As a healer who uses what some might call "unconventional" methods to ensue profound healing in my life and in the lives of others, I have often been asked things like, "Why are raw foods better than cooked foods?" or "Why is Western medicine worse that Eastern forms of healing?" And although they may not use the exact words, the questions are often framed in such a way to lead me to argue for one over the other. However, before I respond, I must first re-frame the question. This is because I do not feel it is my place to denounce anything anyone practices, especially one form of healing over another. In my world of Health, all forms of healing have a place, just perhaps not for everyone at any given time.

"I am a leader in my world of Health!"

As a healer, I consider myself a leader in my world of Health. This does not mean that I am better, more qualified or even "healthier" than anyone. How I define my role as a leader is: I am a space for the FULL EXPRESSION of my values to have a safe, nurturing home. In this space that I say I am, others experience the freedom to honor the same in themselves. This is not about asserting my position; this is about honoring a sacred space for what makes the Difference to arise. Sometimes, as a leader, I may occur as a force to be reckoned with while other times I may seem soft and gentle, but no matter how I occur, the intention is always the same: To hold a space for what allows for a complete, authentic expression of Health to thrive in any given moment and under any given circumstances. This is not a matter of knowing more than others or being more skilled. Health is a matter of choice, and I consider it a privilege to listen for healing.

A TRUE LEADER COMMITS TO HER LISTENING AND

INVESTS HER OWN SUCCESS IN OTHERS BEING GOTTEN

Now there is the question: How do we create solidarity within a group without sharing a common passion for a distinct set of values? Well, the answer is simple. We give up our attachments to our identities and act in accordance with PRINCIPLES BASED ON UNIVERSAL LAW. When we take this on, EVERYONE feels honored. No one is forced to be "wrong," and being Right is not ego-based—it is ACKNOWLEDGMENT, RESPECT and ACCEPTANCE.

The truth of the matter is insights, talking "about," or arguing for a certain perspective make no difference at all! That's right—not even a little bit! But when we hand our actions over to PRINCIPLES, we allow our actions to take place inside The bigger Picture, and this has a much Greater impact than trying to "right" a perceived "wrong."

However, there is something to be said for getting clear about your values through structured disciplines, welcoming information, seeking appropriate training and then applying what we are getting. This is how we fuel the fire—the desire to get it right.

"We are spiritual beings having a human experience."

As much as it might be nice to ascend to a state of nirvana where we dwell in eternal bliss completely free of the suffering brought on by one's physical existence, if you're reading this, then you're probably not in that state NOW. So given that, what makes Sense and invites an experience of satisfaction and peace NOW is actually BEING HERE NOW, dealing with reality exactly as it is and exactly as it is not. In other words, we must fully engage in our humanity in order to establish a firm foundation for our philosophy for living to take hold and make a difference.

And if we do not fully welcome our role as the driver of our lives or we're constantly looking in the rearview mirror, life simply doesn't run so well, and we might even be a hazard for other driver's! However, proudly standing in who we are—as we are and as we are not—is our access to Power. This is the only place we can ever feel Right and like we make a difference.

So what principles should we become familiar with? Well, it really doesn't matter because no matter the words, we all work with the same Universal Laws. However, since you're here, engaged in this conversation, you may as well get familiar with the principles that Give the environment here at Permission to Heal. These are discussed in my blog: My R.A.W. Philosophy.

Remember, we are the only ones who can make a difference in our world because our View has everything to do with Who we are Being. When we expect the world to change or resort to blame, we give our power away. Instead, we must actively choose who we are. This looks like declaring it and then taking action. When we do this, we're not just being a leader in our world of Health. WE ARE BEING THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE!

Constant Healing,

Quote of the Month:

"Recognizing, accepting, and expressing our authentic interior reality lies at the heart of honesty; only when we are honest with ourselves can we speak or act honestly with anyone else. In the sense of integrity, honesty entails acting in line with higher laws despite negative impulses to the contrary.

Live according to your highest light and more light will be given."
