A Community For Empowered Healers
Ever since I was 19 years old I have considered myself a poet. I suspect that the talent was there before that, but I had never nurtured it. My parents always urged me to "get a real job," and discouraged the idea of being an artist of any kind as my main career path. But after an eye opening incident occurred when I was 19 that abruptly woke me up to how dead I actually was in my life, I started to express myself in all manner of ways that I had never even dreamed of before, including writing poetry!
For 12 years now, I have harnessed and nurtured the poet and the writer in me, but just recently I realized that I have pretty much steered clear of writing any kind of love poems. I've been afraid to put my heart out there for others to see, but what I hadn't considered was the difference it could make...not just for me but for others. So with the challenge Gareth posed yesterday, I decided I would SHARE MY FIRST LOVE POEM. Here goes...
The Body Between Us
Flowing from no thing
A spring of creation
Washing up around me
Saturating my cells in pure elation
I thought I missed you and
longed to be with you
But there is no such thing
Only denial of the you in me
Having forgotten I too can sing
Playing hide and seek with judgmental youth
I wonder if we ever really existed
Where does the dream go
When I awake to my own impersistence
In the Greatest Scheme of things
It is only with some distance that we get a real High view
Along the journey to the mountain's top
with each bold step, the world looks perfect and new
So I travel beyond
the comfort zone I found in you
Falling in love with Love itself
Discovering the seeds of Freedom within
Giving them room to shed their skin and take root.
Sometimes what there is to do
Is look forward to the past that comes with reality
Showing us the Constant Choice
"out there" or into me see

"Recognizing, accepting, and expressing our authentic interior reality lies at the heart of honesty; only when we are honest with ourselves can we speak or act honestly with anyone else. In the sense of integrity, honesty entails acting in line with higher laws despite negative impulses to the contrary.
Live according to your highest light and more light will be given."
