Super Simple RAW Almond Milk

You will be absolutely amazed at how delicious this milk is. Way better than anything a cow could provide. Not to say that cow's milk isn't great. It certainly is... for baby calves! And there are those who swear by raw cow's milk. Not for me personally but I appreciate the intention put towards purity and living food. Anyhow, let's get on with this simply delicious recipe!!

To make about 6-7 cups of milk, you will need:

Equipment:

vita-mix or high powered blender

cheese cloth or nut milk bag

Ingredients:

2-3 cups of almonds (soaked for 24 hrs. - nuts will almost double in size during soaking so you'll only need to start with 2-3 cups, dry nuts)

5 cups of filtered water or alkaline water

water from 1 young coconut (you may add more or less depending on the consistency you like)

*you may substitute the coconut water for an extra cup of water and 4-5 drops of liquid stevia

1) Blend almonds and water in a vita-mix or high powered blender until nuts are completely purreed.

2) Once the mixture is blended, get a large bowl and place the nut milk bag inside. Pour the contents of the blender into the bag, and using your hands, squeeze the bag over the bowl. The liquid will go into the bowl while the almond pulp remains inside the nut milk bag. (*Note: Do not throw away the almond pulp. You can make cheese, cookies, crackers, pie crusts... the possibilities are endless!)

3) Now add the coconut water to the nut milk and whatever other flavors you like—vanilla bean, orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, cacao powder for chocolate milk are all excellent choices.
